Welcome to Wet Rock Miniature Farms

Proudly owned by Tracy Sammons and her family; husband Lee & son Danny.

Tracy was born and lived in Oxfordshire, England where she would spend her spare time as a child visiting the neighbour's farm who of course had large horses. Tracy got her first pony when she was 13 years old.

At the age of 17 she found her soulmate and future husband Lee. Lee has also had horses all his life. In 1994 they had a son named Danny.

Tracy and Lee married in the December 0f 2000 and moved to Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada, in February of 2002 where they bought a 65 acres farm and raised 70 suffolk/dorset sheep. At this time, Tracy also worked part-time as a barn manager for a local Hunter/Jumper stable which seemed to satisfy the need to own horses.

In Dec 2006 she bought a mare from the race track named Indy who was in foal to Afleets Dancer. This foal went on to show at the Royal Winter Fair in 2009.

Tracy's first interest in miniatures developed when she started to work part-time for a couple with 5 miniatures & 2 big horses. There, she met Caroyln Aarup was is into Miniatures in a big way. She went to her first show at the Meaford Fall Fair to watch and then decided that she wanted to show too. Her employer had an AMHR registered colt named Mac, so she showed him in 2008.

The 2010 show year was especially exciting for Tracy when she purchased a AMHR/ASPC Bay Pinto Stallion in Aug 2009 from Laura Tennill who will hopefully stay under 34" and an AMHR/ASPC Bay Pinto Mare from Ed McCarthy Feb 2010 who will be 35".

Tracy's goal is to produce quality miniatures and not quantity. She is branching into the ASPC/AMHR lines as she likes the refinement and movement expressed in these horses, which enhances the AMHR Miniatures.

The herd now consists of an AMHR/ASPC stallion and a small number of (AMHR and/or AMHR/ASPC) mares and she produces a few foals each spring which will be offered for sale. Most foals will be AMHR futurity nominated.

She is planning on showing in MHCO, AMHR sanctioned shows & some US shows including the Nationals.
